Social Activities

Founded as a support booster club for the American Royal over 60 years ago, and as a recreational outlet for its leadership, the Saddle and Sirloin Club is Kansas City’s only social club dedicated to equestrian activities, the shooting sports, and the preservation of the traditions of the old West.

Located on 325 beautiful acres, only a few miles from the southern edge of Kansas City, we have open space and a relaxed country atmosphere unique to country clubs in this area. With a lovely ranch home recently remodeled to include a commercial kitchen, we offer lunch, dinner and beverage service. Other outdoor activities include hiking, camp outs and campfires, bird walks, flower gardening.

It is truly “our place in the country”, complete with friends, activities, and a place to get away from the hectic pace of suburban living, just minutes away from our homes.

Saddle and Sirloin members enjoy a full social calendar at the club. The Club House and the Outpost are the centers for regular social activities – ongoing and special events. Most major holidays are celebrated with special themed dinners or parties, with members helping to plan, decorate and host the events. Many activities center on the American Royal and the men’s and women’s trail rides. Assorted BBQ’s, Derby Day, Chief’s tailgating at the ranch and the annual President’s Party are all excuses for festivities, large or small. Many are designed as family activities, specifically for the children.

As befits our tradition to the American Royal, members of Saddle and Sirloin show their loyalty and appreciation in every way we can. There are many ways to become involved in both leadership and volunteer activities and this gives us a sense of purpose distinct from many other social organizations.
